About Pinecast
We're a podcast hosting platform with around 15,000 active podcasters. Our product is loved for its simplicity but we know the design can be better -- that's why we're hiring our first dedicated design lead.
The Role
You'll be responsible for the overall design direction of Pinecast. This means the web app, the embeddable player, our marketing site, and email templates. It's a LOT of surface area for one person so you need to be comfortable prioritizing ruthlessly.
Right now our CEO (who is a developer) has been doing all the design work, so... there's room for improvement. You'll inherit an existing design system in Figma that's, let's say, 60% complete.
We're profitable and bootstrapped. No VC pressure, no growth-at-all-costs mentality. We ship things when they're ready.
Requirements
- 7+ years design experience, 2+ in a lead role
- Strong visual design AND interaction design skills
- Experience with design systems at scale
- Consumer product experience strongly preferred
- Can work independently with minimal oversight
